Bit of an odd post today.
One of the blogs I read ‘The Seafront Diaries’ posted today about animals http://www.seafrontdiary.com/2009/05/wild-life.html oddly enough I was thinking about animals today. Or rather i was wondering what animals think.
It all stems from this afternoon when I was in my bosses office looking out his window at the rain outside when I noticed a small single solitary bird perched on a telephone line. Looking round it’s almost as if he knew I was watching him because he turned round on the line and started looking my way. I don’t know if he was looking at me or just in my direction but it got me wondering if animals actually have thoughts, do they think about food or flying, or female birds. We spend so much of our time concentrating on the things we want, we all picture them in our heads, we make plans to attain them, but do animals? I don’t know if there is a scientific answer or not, maybe science would say that animals with ‘small’ brains like birds are driven purely by instinct, to fly or feed or do mate, but science doesn’t know, it can’t. So for now I am left to wonder, what birds thing about, if they do think and if that bird today was looking at me and wondering what I think about, if I do think?
Normally I’m not afraid put here what I’m thinking, the anonymity afforded me by a username online serves me well. Just lately I’ve been having this thought or feeling and I know that if I put it here not one person who read it would really agree with me. I shall think on it some more.
